Why is Spire calling me? ›

We may, at times, call about your bill. If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be with Spire and you feel unsafe, just hang up and call us. We issue all of our workers—even third-party contractors—Spire badges. Don't be afraid to ask for one.

Registration is quick.

You can register in three simple steps: Provide your gas account number, or look up your account number with your social security number, the address where you receive gas service, and your ZIP Code. Once you submit your registration form, we'll send you a confirmation email.

If we must send you a disconnection notice, you will receive this communication via U.S. Mail. We will deliver subsequent disconnection notices in the same manner that we deliver them to all customers.

You can easily find your account number on your monthly Spire paper bill or e-bill. Your account number is also available in My Account. Your service history, including past service addresses, is available through your online account.

If you wish to do your own filtering, Android phones have a feature called “Verified Calls.” This feature will show you information like who is calling and why they're calling. Spam risk labels are not 100% accurate, and this will allow you to determine if a call is truly spam or not.

A Spire user may attempt logging into Spire and see an error message stating "Account has been locked out. Retry in...". This means that the user has typed the password wrong multiple times.

When you register for an online account at MyAccount.SpireEnergy.com, you'll be able to pay and view your bill, explore usage and more. If you've signed up for Spire online account access by creating a new login, sign in here.

Android phones – to download the App, go to the Play Store and search for Spire Consultant App – click to download and then use your log in details to get started.

Where can I pay my Spire gas bill in person? ›

You can pay your Spire bill in places that are already part of your day to day — grocery stores, convenience stores, drugstores and other businesses with extended hours to suit your needs. These authorized payment locations are another way we work to connect to the people we serve.

Spire's Auto Pay program helps customers like you stay on top of monthly bills. It's one less bill to think about. Plus, by combining other programs like Paperless Billing and Budget Billing, you'll be able to manage your Spire account even more easily.

Where can I see my account number? If you need to find your bank account number, you'll typically be able to see it on bank statements and on your online or app banking. Most banks also print the bank account number on the front or back of your bank card.

Phone calls from random numbers could be from anyone — a local business, your doctor's office, or, in many cases, scammers.

Your phone number was leaked in a data breach

Data breaches are among the most common ways that scammers get access to your phone number. In 2022, 166 million people had their personal data stolen in data breaches from companies including Twitter, Uber, and WhatsApp [*].

Account service call scams are a type of phone scam in which fraudsters spoof your caller ID to display “account services” or “cardmember services.” If you answer, scammers pose as representatives from credit card companies, collection agencies, banks, or utility providers.

It is generally a good idea not to answer a phone call that appears to be from your own phone number. There is typically no legitimate reason for a person to receive such a call, and by answering, the scam artist is notified that your number is active, often leading to more scam calls.
