The 10-day to 10K challenge, also known as the Ladder Challenge, is one of the most difficult achievements in sports betting. One of our Prop or Chop favorites, Calling Our Shot, nearly hit the jackpot last week - and is setting out to do it again.
Here's how Calling Our Shot nearly completed the challenge, and how the gambling twitter community jumped onboard for the fun along the way.

What is the 10-day to $10K Challenge?
Also known as the "Ladder Challenge", the concept is simple: a bettor begins by placing a $10 bet on Day 1, then takes the winnings plus the original bet and doubles a new wager on Day 2, repeating this process until on Day 10, the bet is placed to win $10K.
Ladder Challenges have been the source of split opinions within Gambling Twitter in the past - with some bettors arguing it's much easier to hit one parlay at longer odds than hitting ten consecutive plus-money bets over ten days. But while the effectiveness of the strategy may be up for debate, the thrill of chasing the achievement is not.
Calling Our Shot's Run at $10K
Calling Our Shot has long been one of the best follows in gambling. As a frequent contributor on Prop or Chop, he has been one of the most successful competitors on the show, and his daily videos on NBA and NFL best bets are must-watch. So when he decided to take his shot at the Ladder Challenge, we had high expectations.
So when his first attempt lost on Day 1, we were a bit surprised.
β Calling Our Shot (@CallingOurShot) January 14, 2023Day 1 of our ladder challenge was a failure. Shoutout Mr. Curry for 15 points...
Running it back today. Just posted the YouTube short on our page! It's a Same Game Parlay for the Chargers-Jaguars game!
I'll post it on here closer to kickoff!
This failed attempt speaks to the difficulty of the Ladder Challenge concept itself, but luckily for plenty of gamblers that follow Calling Our Shot, he wasn't done just yet.
He came right back the next day with a second attempt, this time finding success with a +101 Same Game Parlay in the Chargers vs. Jaguars NFL playoff game. After his Day 1 play hit, he turned his attention to the NBA on Day 2, with a +110 3-leg player prop parlay needing Stephen Curry, De'Aaron Fox and Joel Embiid to each hit alternate scoring totals.
Over the next two days, he alternated between NBA and NFL parlays, building momentum and bankroll simultaneously with every winning bet. After Day 4, he noticed his bet was featured in FanDuel's "Popular Same Game Parlay Bets", where over 10,000 bettors tailed his play for Day 4.
β Calling Our Shot (@CallingOurShot) January 18, 2023This picture was from yesterday early in the day. Itβs fun to think that AT LEAST 10,000 people placed Day 4βs ladder.
Letβs say they averaged $50 per bet. That means we took at least $500,000+ from FanDuel alone.
I like that.π΅

Over the next four days, he worked his winnings up to $2,571.40, alternating between NFL and NBA for each play. Along the way, he gained thousands of followers across various social media channels. He wisely encouraged his followers to consider banking some of the winnings if they had been tailing his plays from the start.
β Calling Our Shot (@CallingOurShot) January 21, 2023I do want to note. It would be smart to bow out now if you need the money. $1200+ can really improve a lot of people's lives. So, if you stop now, I don't blame you at all. I won't judge you. It probably is the smart move.
BUT...nobody said I was smart.
THE CLIMB CONTINUES!
A Brutal Ending and a New Beginning
While Calling Our Shot may have encouraged his followers to be responsible, for him it was about the glory of completing the challenge. He moved into Day 9, where he placed a SGPx that included legs from both NFL playoff games that day, featuring players from the Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals, and the Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers games.
The bet needed five legs to hit, wagering all $2,571.40 to win $5,118.79, and move one day away from completing the challenge.

In the end, the Bills and Stefon Diggs let him down, and the winnings vanished into thin air.

I'm in pain.
Thank you all for the crazy support you've shown. It's been a fun (bittersweet) ride. Here are some more comments from me if you're interested. pic.twitter.com/3ujj523Py5
It wasn't all bad news though. Over the 9-day run, Calling Our Shot gained 134K TikTok followers, 35K twitter followers, 20K YouTube subscribers and 4K Instagram followers, showing how much gamblers everywhere gravitate toward concepts like the Ladder Challenge.
And in the end, Calling Our Shot could only be kept quiet for so long:
