Elden Ring: An Expert's Guide On The Best Bleed Weapons (2024)

Elden Ring includes blood/bleed weapons that build up the blood loss of the enemies and make them explode. When they explode, it deal tons of damage to the enemies. Trust me these best bleed weapons will surely make your Elden Ring playthrough a breeze.

Before I begin, let’s have a look at the comparison between the Best Bleed Weapons that you can get while playing Elden Ring:

1. Reduvia Dagger

Reduvia is one of the early blood weapons you can find in the game. The servants of the Lord of Blood use this dagger. It was one of my go-to choices for a bleed build, so you can rest assured knowing that it is one of the Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring. The dagger has a unique skill known as the Reduvia Blood Blade.

Location

The Reduvia dagger is located near the Murkwater Catacombs site of Grace. Once you get there, head to the south while going up the river. There, you’ll come across an invasion from Bloody Fingers Narijus. Killing this enemy is quite easy. Once defeated, they’ll drop Reduvia.

2. Uchigatana

The Uchigatana is a fantastic blood weapon in Elden Ring, especially for a Bleed build. You can obtain this deadly katana right from the beginning of the game by starting as a Samurai.

Location

The Uchigatana location in Elden Ring is in the Deathtouched Catacombs in Limgrave.

You can get this katana without defeating the boss in the Catacombs. When heading inside, turn left from the main entrance, and after following the route, you can loot the blade from a dead body.

Once you progress further in the game, I suggest switching to the Nagakiba. It’s greater length gives it a longer reach, and it performs identical to Uchigatana but with more attack range.

3. Rivers of Blood Katana

The Rivers of Blood Katana doesn’t need any introduction in the Elden Ring. It is one of the most famous Bleed Weapons and according to me is by far the best weapon for Elden Ring’s many monstrosities. So whether you are going for a PVP or a PVE Fight, the Rivers of Blood Katana will help you achieve victory in no time.

The Rivers of Blood Katana uses the stellar move-set of Katana and combines it with the range and bleed build-up of the blade. The weapon is available in the late game. And the wait to get it in the late game is worth it.

Location

To get to the Rivers of Blood Katana’s location in Elden Ring, you’ll have to travel to the Mountain Top of the Giants. On the map’s southern side, you’ll find the Rivers of Blood katana near the Church of Repose.

It will be dropped by Bloody Finger Okina, who attacks you. But mind you, before you hunt for the Katana, make sure that you haven’t defeated the Fire Giant. If you have defeated the Fire Giant, you won’t get this katana as a drop.

4. Ghiza’s Wheel

Ghiza’s Wheel is a Colossal Weapon in the Elden Ring. The basic attacks of the Ghiza’s Wheel act as any hammer. But the Weapon Art that is literally named ‘Spinning Wheel’ is what makes it special. I frequently used it for a little Bloodborne nostalgia.

Location

The Ghiza’s Wheel is located at the Volcano Manor. It is located above the stairs leading to Lady Tanith. There, you’ll have to defeat an invader that is using the Ghiza’s Wheel.

5. Eleanora’s Poleblade

Eleanora’s Poleblade has an edge over other weapons as it is a twin-blade. With that, it can bleed way faster than most of the weapons on my list. If you want a strategy on how to use it, that’s simple, equip it in both hands and spam sprint attacks. It will make everything in front of you explode either with raw damage or with a blood loss effect.

Location

This Blood Weapon in Elden Ring is acquired during Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline. In this, you’ll have to travel to the Second Church of Marika and defeat Eleanora, Violet Bloody Finger. When defeated, Eleanora will drop Eleanora’s Poleblade with other items.

6. Sword Of Milos

The Sword of Milos may not be an overpowered Blood Weapon in Elden Ring, as it doesn’t deal high Bleed damage and isn’t particularly fast. Its 55 bleed effect can’t be buffed either. However, it’s a noteworthy weapon and deserves a spot among the Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring.

Location

The Sword of Milos can be obtained in the Dung Eater’s Questline.

You’ll notice that Dung Eater uses this sword, so in order to obtain it, you’ll have to kill Dung Eater. If you don’t want to kill Dung Eater, you can simply complete the quest, and Dung Eater will be available as the spirit summon to help you in fights.

Outside of bleed builds, you can use the Blasphemous Blade if you wish to regenerate HP rather than the FP regen that Sword of Milos gives.

7. Cross-Naginata

The Cross-Naginata, found in the Elden Ring, is one of the best spears available. It combines a katana with a spear, offering excellent reach. The Cross-Naginata has a fantastic move-set, with wide-reaching and fast attacks, and I found it ideal for crowd control.

Location

To find the Cross-Naginata, you’ll have to travel to the Gael Tunnel in Caelid. Get inside, and you’ll have to deal with a few knights guarding it.

Now jump down carefully And interact with the lost site of grace. There, you’ll have to go through a few tunnels until you come into a cavern with water dripping from the walls and roof. If you look to your left, you’ll find an item. That item is the Cross-Naginata. But before you can get to it, you’ll be attacked by a land octopus. I recommend that you run past it, as dealing with it will be hard.

8. Bloody Helice

The Dynast’s Finesse and Bloody Helice’s Weapon Art are exceptional. The Tarnished can move backward and perform a powerful thrust at enemies. You can also use it as an escape skill for repositioning. What makes this Weapon Art stand out is its ability to build bleed quickly compared to normal stabs.

Location

The Bloody Helice is located in the Altus Plateau. There, you get it by defeating a boss in the underground portion of the church. Some guards will guard the area, going past them and down the stairs. You’ll find a boss fight’s mist door. Defeat the boss, and the Bloody Helice will be found behind him in a chest inside a room.

9. Bloodhound’s Fang

The Bloodhound’s Fang is an incredible weapon in Elden RIng. And without a doubt, it is one of the most powerful Blood Weapons in Elden Ring. The BloodHound’s Fang is a Curved Greatsword that deals damage through slashes.

Location

To get to the Bloodhound’s Fang, you must travel to a specific location called Forlorn Hound Evergaol. That place is a teleporter that teleports you to a location to the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil.

As it is in Limgrave, you can get to this place even at the beginning. But I’ll recommend that you don’t start the fight unless you’re at least level 20.

10. Hookclaws

Hookclaws are another unique weapon in the list of Bleed Weapons in Elden Ring. Light weapons inflict beefy damage if you’ve performed their combos right. And as the Hookclaws are light weapons, they have a fast attacking pattern. This comes in handy when aiming for a blood loss build-up on the enemies. You can use these for a Wolverine cosplay, too, as I did.

Location

Hookclaws are an early weapon in the game, so they’ve made it into my best blood weapons list. You’ll find these after you’ve defeated Margit the Fell omen.

11. Morgott’s Cursed Sword

With the Patch 1.04 update, the weapon has completely changed. What once was a normal weapon has now turned into a monster. When you’ve finished your combo, It will make your enemies run for their lives in PVP. The weapon’s animations have become faster.

Location

You get Morgott’s Cursed Sword by killing Morgott, the Omen King. Morgott can be found in Leyndell, Royal Capital. I suggest that you prepare yourself as Morgott is a strong boss.

You’ll have to defeat Morgott, The Omen King, and then take his Remembrance to Enia at the Roundtable Hold and then exchange it for his Cursed Sword.

12. Godskin Peeler

Another Twinblade on my list that is as exciting as the last one is the Godskin Peeler. This twin blade has the same move set as any other twin blade. You can use it to slash enemies or poke at them. Furthermore, the power stance can deal massive amounts of damage.

Location

To find the Godskin Peeler, you’ll have to travel to the Windmill Village. The village is located in the Altus Plateau. There, you’ll have to climb up the hill and come across the Godskin Apostle.

The Godskin Apostle has an easy move-set. It won’t take long for you to plan your attacks. Once the Godskin Apostle at Windmill Village is defeated, you’ll get the Godskin Peeler as a drop.

13. Moonveil Katana

Moonveil Katana, like any other katana, is a fast weapon that can attack many times before the enemies get to react to it. It deals with a 50-blood loss build-up on every attack.

Location

The Moonveil Katana is located in a hidden cave located on the right side of Caelid. The cave is called the Gael Tunnel. While getting the Moonveil Katana, you’ll have to fight a Magma Wyrm, a mini-boss.

14. Hoslow’s Petal Whip

Elden Ring offers a variety of weapon types, including whips. Whips are known for their fast strikes, excellent range, and ability to cause blood loss build-up, making them contenders for the Best Bleed Weapons. I’ve always found whips a fascinating option, and thus Hoslow’s Petal Whip was a fun weapon to play around with.

Location

You get Hoslow’s Petal Whip by completing the Volcano Manor Questline. In this questline, you’ll have to invade Juno Hoslow’s world and defeat him. His invade rune is located in the Mountaintops of the Giants.

15. Thorned Whip

The Thorned Whip is another intriguing weapon as its distinctive feature is the red thorns protruding from the whip, indicating its ability to cause Hemorrhage to enemies.

Location

To get the Whip, you’ll have to travel to the Zamor Ruins in Mountaintops of the Giants. There, just before you reach the bridge, you’ll find Prelate. You’ll have to kill it, and it will drop the Thorned Whip. Getting the Thorned Whip as a drop is a rare chance, so you’ll have to kill it several times before you can get your hands on it.

Alternative Bleed Weapons

Here are some alternative Bleed Weapons in Elden Ring that are worth mentioning. However, I did not include them in my list because of specific factors.

• Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear:A good weapon that has heavy attacks, but it deals only fire damage.
• Scavenger’s Curved Sword:An excellent choice, but it has a low attack rating and shortest reach.
• Bloodhound Claws: This weapon doesn’t cause as much critical damage or bleeding as other claw weapons.

My Thoughts On The Bleed Weapons

In my playthrough, Bleed Build is arguably one of the most overpowered builds in Elden Ring, and the best weapon to choose with it is Rivers of Blood Katana.

While the Katana was overpowered before it got nerfed, still, after being nerfed, I think it is the best Katana you can use with a bleed build. Using Rivers of Blood can be difficult for some players so they can use Reduvia or Uchigatana.

I personally don’t like Reduvia that much, but Uchigata and Rivers of Blood are two of my favorite Bleed weapons that go perfectly with a Bleed Build.
