  1. DUP's struggles in North Antrim 'a reality check' - Allisterpublished at 05:54 5 July

    05:54 5 July

Jim Allister says Ian Paisley has not yet approached him ahead of the TUV leader's expected victory.

"It is for him to make a move of congratulating me, but that hasn't happened," he says.

However, he acknowledges that a defeat is not easy.

"I've lost enough times to know that," he adds.

He says the result is a "moment of reality check" for the DUP.

"Their days of taking unionism for granted are over," he says.

    05:48 5 JulyBreaking

The result in South Antrim means the DUP cannot win as many or more seats than Sinn Féin.

It means Sinn Féin is now the largest Westminster party from Northern Ireland with seven seats.

It is also the biggest party in the Stormont assembly and at council level.

Sinn Féin MPs do not take their seats in the House of Commons due to a long-standing policy of abstentionism.

    05:47 5 July

SDLP leader Colum Eastwood has fought off Sinn Féin challenger Sandra Duffy to hold onto his Foyle seat, but his notional majority compared to 2019 when the boundaries were slightly different has been cut - as he predicted.

Sinn Féin will take great comfort in Sandra Duffy polling 11,481 and see it as something to build on for the future.

Colum Eastwood received 15,647 of the vote - a majority of 4,166.

He announces Gavin Robinson has won Bangor East, but should have said Belfast East.

Gavin Robinson jokes that in fairness, "there has been much talk of boundary changes".
